It was nearly 3 years and a c-section, I had just mastered how to lift heavy with prolapse. As usual, things started off pretty not feeling so awesome. It felt like something was falling out of me during my workout.

But you know what?

 

It wasn’t working. Instead of 3 sets of 10 kegels and glute bridges 3 times a day, I wasn’t getting anywhere!

 

It was frustrating to say the least. I’d tried to just do bodyweight workouts and low impact workouts over the months  before, and they all seemed to end the same way...

I kept thinking there’s got to be a better way to feel brave in my body again. Seems like other women can jump, run, and lift just fine – so what was my problem?

 

That’s when I stumbled into a marvelous discovery that instantly made it much easier for me to navigate my symptoms during my workouts.

 

 

Suddenly, instead of getting stronger and I wasn’t noticing my prolapse as much.I And best of all, it was happening almost like magic. Yes, it felt THAT easy!

 

What was this discovery?

 

Simple –  I started incorporating the rehab methods physios were using and incorporating them into my workouts.

I refer to a study done by Lorni Forner in 2019, A PhD in Physiotherapy With a Specialty in Pelvic Health And Female Athletes. It says, women who lift heavy as a form of REGULAR exercise with prolapse didn't see a worsening in symptoms.

Do I have to get clearance from my doctor?

I highly recommend you consult with your doctor or other health care professional when you begin any new fitness program and/or have your 6 week clearance (if you’ve recently given birth)

 

I don’t have prolapse but I do pee (or experience pelvic floor pain) during my workouts. Can I still work with you?

Absolutely! 

 

Do I have to be assessed by a pelvic PT?

I understand getting internally assessed by a pelvic floor physiotherapist isn’t always an option. Although not required, it’s a good idea to consult with a pelvic PT if you can.

 

Do I have to be a new mom to benefit from the POPMAX Inner Circle ?

Nope! Whether you've had a baby of not, you can benefit from learning how to coordinate your pelvic floor with movement.

 

When will I start seeing a difference in my prolapse symptoms?

Maybe! Many women notice a difference one they learn how to use their pelvic floor muscles. Others need more time. If you stay consistent by putting in the work, you'll start feeling changes over time.

 

Won’t I get the same results if I work with a pelvic PT?

No. Generally speaking, your pelvic floor physiotherapist is mostly addressing your pelvic floor function and may prescribe low impact exercises to help improve your coordination with movement.
